Reflecting on 2020
As the sun has set over Snowdonia for the last time in 2020, January allows us to reflect on what has been a challenging year for many, and take some time to look back at the highlights of 2020 at Hendre Rhys Gethin.
Achievements
We won Gold for the ‘Hot tub in a holiday setting’ category at the 2020 British Pool and Hot Tub Awards. The award ceremony took place at the annual Industry Gala Evening, held during SPATEX, the winning entry can be seen here.
We also achieved a preferred partner property status with Booking.com along with becoming a super host with AirBnb. Thanks to our amazing staff we are one of the highest-rated accommodation in Betws y Coed with a 9.9/10 rating with booking.com and average 5-star review on Airbnb.
We also had our first editorial piece written about us in Holiday Living which can be seen on our Facebook page.
Guests
We welcomed our first guests of the 2020 season on the 20th March looking forward to another bustling season, however, a mere week later and the park was shut for almost four months! Although we had lost all revenue overnight, we utilised this time to continue working at the site to develop the cottages, which will hopefully be ready for Spring 2021.
Late June we received the excellent news that we would be back open on the 13th of July, giving us time to adapt our process at Hendre Rhys Gethin to make the accommodation COVID secure in line with industry recommendation. We are so grateful to all our wonderful guests for understanding and adhering to the new guidance and to everyone that supported us over the summer months.
It was Déjà vu on October the 1st where we were required to close the park again.
We are expecting to reopen the park on the 29th of March 2021 (subject to Welsh Government Guidelines). To ensure that our guest can book with confidence the booking policy will be updated – further information will be available on the website over the next few weeks.
Accommodation
